Because we receive no funding from the Government, Council, Lottery, etc we rely entirely on the support of the public (and businesses). We currently spend over £1,000 a week helping animals, and would like to do more. There are lots of ways you can help us help them.
Give an animal a home
You can adopt an animal from us to give him/her the loving new home they deserve. Some animals, typically those who are old and/or need ongoing medication, are fostered; they live with you but we pay for agreed items such as treatment of pre-existing conditions. Please click here to see the animals currently with us.
If you aren't able to have an animal yourself, you can sponsor one of our fostered animals to help pay for his/her care. Please click here to see the animals we currently have available for sponsorship.
Help us financially
You can call into our shop to make a donation in cash or by cheque/credit card, or you can post a cheque to the shop. Please click here for the address. Please make cheques out to the RSPCA Herefordshire Branch.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to use direct debits because the costs are so high they could outweigh the donation, but you can set up a standing order to make regular donations. Please contact us for details.
You can leave us a legacy. If you wish the money to be given to the Branch, please say so explicitly in your will and mention our Charity Number: 223364.
If you join the RSPCA nationally, you can say you wish to be affiliated with this Branch and we then receive a proportion of your subscription. Please click here for more information.
We always welcome suitable goods for sale in our shop. Please click here for more details.
You can donate food and treats for the animals in our care, via our shop. Please note that usually we most need kitten and rabbit food and dog treats.
We are grateful for all the help we get. Sometimes we receive anonymous donations and we obviously can't thank people personally in these circumstances, or the many people who put money in collecting boxes in shops, etc. However, we can say Thank You here.
Volunteer
The Branch depends almost entirely on volunteers for all the work it does to help animals. There are lots of different opportunities for you to use your enthusiasm, skills and experience, including:
Please note that we do not run an animal home ourselves and do not have any office premises, so the opportunities for employment or work experience are very limited.
Please contact us for more information or download an application form here (right click on the link to download the form).
In return, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping animals that through no fault of their own need our support and assistance.
